![]() ![]() I'm not even going to discuss about the casualties and the fact that more than 50% of Azeroth's population from both factions should be dead and there shouldn't be any more armies or supplies left. The lore makes no sense because the time span makes no sense, you look at other such universes (books, games etc.) and they have this put together and it makes sense and enriches the lore. Again I know it's a game but it also has a lot of lore and most things are governed by the lore or put into it. Let's talk about the fact that it's been 9 years and the heroes of Azeroth who were nobodies in strength have become cosmic champions of the universe in just 9 years. But at least with MoP, we stumbled upon the continent and found out the Sha, the Sha weren't coming for us or Azeroth, we went there and stirred everything up and so forth with WoD, Legion and BFA. ![]() Only after that did the story start to have more continuity even tho the threats were just as great as until then. Some of them make sense to happen directly after the next expansion and this has been mostly a recent thing, MoP -> War Crimes -> WoD -> Legion - > BFA because they had better structured continuous story.īut up until then the story was just chaotic, multiple threats in Vanilla one after another, a dragon that controlled Stormwind, a troll empire and their god, an elemental lord, an old god and a Scourge Necropolis with the most powerful Lich and undead servants to date then boom we go to another planet and face Illidan, demons, the Legion and everything else then boom The Lich King is in and the Titans and another Old God then boom Deathwing shatters the world and we fight most elemental lords, deathwing and all that happened then. I don't mind the events, I mind the time span in which they happen, you would expect to see at least 3 to 5 years difference between them if not 10 to 15 (as in time between the end of Vanilla and the start of Burning Crusade for example). Now we go back to year 25 up until now, 9 years and more has happened on Azeroth and more world threatening events than in the past 16.000 years combined. I look at the first war and up until the end of the third war, things were fairly balanced in terms of what happened, fair amount of war and everything and culminating in the third war with the legion invasion which was huge but all the events preceding that weren't (compared to the legion invasion, not that what happened on Azeroth wasn't impactful up until then).Įven if we go back a 6.800 years, things have still been "stable", yes events happened, big ones too but they had time in between them to happen and they seemed organic like history. Why not put more years in between events in lore ? So much has happened since year 25 up to now and it's barely been 9-10 years. That means that 9 to 10 years have passed in lore since Vanilla started.ĭoesn't it seem like everything escalated way to fast ? I know it's primarily a game and content has to be put out no matter how ridiculous but they could have made the timeline more vast. ![]() The events of WoW (vanilla) started in year 25 up until 34-35 present time. So from what I read in various sources The First War started at year 0 and now we are at year 34-35 with BFA. I want to know your opinion on the Timeline of the events and progress on Azeroth.
